Emissions Reduction Targets
As a start-up, this is Icarus Group Ltd.’s first carbon footprint analysis. As such, no previous emissions reduction commitments or targets had been set.
As part of this Carbon Reduction Plan the following targets and commitments have been set.
- CO2 emissions/Revenue (millions) to decrease year-on-year until the year 2030.
- Total CO2 emissions to decrease year-on-year from the year 2030 to 2040.
- Net Zero emissions to be achieved by 2050.
Being a new business, Icarus Group Ltd is growing rapidly. Realistically, therefore, emissions are going to increase in the short-term as the business multiplies in size. With this growth our carbon emissions are going to increase.
However, Icarus Group Ltd is committed to continually improving its business activities with regards to emissions. This is why Icarus Group Ltd have proposed the first target of reducing carbon emissions with respect to turnover to normalise our CO2 emissions with respect to growth.
Once the business is established, the aim is for a year-on-year reduction of total emissions before reaching Net Zero in 2050.
